Harrell GAR Post #42

Harrell GAR Post #42 was formed in Chowan County in 1890. It was named for Sgt. William H. Harrell.  Hardy Mixon served as the original Commander of the post, which met in Edenton, NC. In 1890, the post reported a membership of 30. The post continued to operate until 1901. Charles Perry and Haywood Pettigrew the key leaders.
