Seven of the Jonesboro Guards were left in camp sick during the battle. John T. Anderson was on a leave of absence until 29 Aug 1861 due to the death of his wife, so he was probably absent at the time of the battle. William J. Parker was one of the sick left in camp; he died at home 1 Oct 1861.
