GPS coordinates: 36.296009,-76.223482		George W. Brooks was one of the leading Unionists in Elizabeth City during the Civil War. His house was used by Union forces during the occupation of Elizabeth City in late 1862 - early 1863. After the war, Brooks was appointed to a Federal judge position.
