Originally an Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal Company tugboat, the CSS Junaluska was armed with a 6-pdr gun when she participated in the 1 October 1861 capture of the USS Fanny. Most of her service was spent transporting troops and materials in the sounds around Roanoke Island, NC. Records show her as being dismantled in 1862.
