The Pettigrew
Camp, #1315, U.C.V., was formed in Edenton by former Confederate soldiers in 1901.
The national UCV organization granted them a charter on 7 November 1901.
There were 54 charter members. The camp was
dropped from the national roster on Jan. 24, 1907, by vote of the convention
held in New Orleans, April 25-27, 1906. Only one UCV
roster for the Pettigrew Camp exists, but the camp may have been in operation
as late as 1909.
