Capt. Willis B. Sanderlin
This company mustered into service on July 7^th, 1863, as a partisan ranger company. They were assigned to the 66^th NC as Co. F. The 66^th failed to form and the unit eventually became part of the 68^th NC. Raised in the Sandy Hook area of Camden County, Company B was led by Captain Willis B. Sanderlin. Their main camp was located in the swamp near Sandy Hook on a section of high ground known as Guerilla Island. Company B was involved in skirmishes with General Edward A. Wild’s expedition into northeastern North Carolina in December 1863 – January 1864.
