This company mustered into service on August 31st, 1863, as a partisan ranger company. They were assigned to the 66th NC. The 66th failed to form and the unit eventually became part of the 68th NC. Raised in Camden and Currituck Counties, Company C was led by Captain Caleb P. Walston. Part of Co. C may have been involved in skirmishes with General Edward A. Wild’s expedition into northeastern North Carolina in December 1863 – January 1864. Only those members that enlisted in Camden County are listed here.
